Considering the brand value and reputation of MBA institutes such as the IIMs, they do not compromise on the quality of the students enrolling into their institute. One of the most efficient strategies that help them succeed in their pursuit of top notch students is a high cut off of the CAT examination. Hence, IIMs are known to raise their bars of the expected percentile in the examination. The general bracket of the accepted CAT percentile ranges from 95 to a 99.98 percentile so as to get you a PI, that is, a Personal Interview call from the IIM institutes.

According to an RTI filed this year to IIMA it released the lowest CAT percentile of students seeking admission in PGP 2018-20 called for Written Ability Test, Group Discussion and Personal interview across all categories (General, SC, ST, OBC and other categories too).
