If you are from general category, then you need to score 95 percentile.

If you want to get into a good NIT with your preferred branch, you should aim for a percentile above 97.5% in JEE mains as this is the only entrance exam of nit for High cutoff branches like computer science and electronics engineering.However, you may need to compromise on your branch selection if your percentile is above 96%. But below 97.5 parcentage.

To get into NITs , candidates should have an average of between 85-95 percentile. But you need to try to  score  high percentile so that you can get prestigious NITs without comprising the branch .
