how much percentile want to get seat in nit for sc canditate
Hi
This difficult to predict the marks/percentile / rank you require in JEE mains to get into NITs etc as closing rank keeps changing every year depending upon various factors like
----------) number of students/ candidates that appeared in the jee main exam,
-----------) number of available seats,
-----------) jee main examination difficulty level.
-----------) branch preference by different candidates
-----------) the category you belong etc.
But yes,
When we go through previous year trend then ,
Under other state quota , closing rank for some of the nits for which closing rank goes low are listed below along with their closing rank in the 6th round of josaa counselling 2021 for sc category :-
-
National Institute of Technology, Andhra Pradesh, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering :- 9135 sc rank
-
NIT, Raipur, Bio Medical Engineering :- 9446 sc rank
-
National Institute of Technology Agartala :- Physics (5 Years, Bachelor of Science and Master of Science (Dual Degree)):- 10530 sc rank
You can check the same at its official website for which link is given below:-

So, to get a seat in NITs, you need at least around 9k -10k sc rank, and for that you should target at least around 85 percentile to be on the safer side .

Dear aspirant !
Hope you are doing great ! See, the percentile to get admission in nit is differ from college to college and branch to branch , so first clarify this thing ,now let's come to the point ,in sc category if you want to get admission in NIT ,then the safe score will be 92 to 94 percentile ,it is a safe score ,and your marks should be between 120 to 140 out of 300 ,so keep this in mind and work very hard ,and also target first attempt so that you can prepare for jee advanced also if desire, otherwise give all four attempts.
