Dear aspirant,
There is as such no pre defined marks or percentile that you have to score to get into nits. It actually depends on certain factors like number of candidates appearing in the examination, number of vacant seats in college, previous years cut offs and difficulty level of the paper.
But if you were to judge on the basis of general category then for good nits like Jamshedpur, durgapur, Silchar, allahabad, rourkela, Calicut you need to score a minimum of 96+ to get the lowest branch.
For sc/st category a percentile of 85-87 will also fetch them decent core branches in decent colleges.
For more information you can check out the link given below-
Hello aspirant,
Hope you are doing great. According to the percentile, you require to get admission into NIT, through JEE Mains are as follows;
2019: 89 percentile to 99 percentile
2020: 90 percentile to 99 percentile
2021: 87 percentile to 99 percentile
Based on the records, it is better to score, to score around 90 to 99 percentile. Then you will really have a better scope in getting admission into NITs, through Mains exam. https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/jee-main-cutoff
Hope this helps you,
Good luck, Thank you :)
Hello Aspirant,
See there is no any minimum rank required to be eligible for admission in NITs for any category because the seat allotment process is based on the rank of candidate but if you are a general(assuming, since you have not mentioned your category) candidate and wants to get into any NIT then you should at least try for 99.2+ percentile (under 6000-7000 CRL rank) in JEE-Main 2021 for top NITs and for average NITs 98+ percentile (10000-15000 CRL rank) will also be the decent score.
As the cut-offs are released along with the JEE-Main 2022 result so for now you can get an idea from JEE-Main 2021 qualifying cut-offs that are enlisted below :-
==>> Common Rank List (CRL) - 87.8992241-100.0000000 Percentile

==>> Scheduled Caste (SC) - 46.8825338-87.8950071 Percentile
