How much % require in btech last year to get a job in company
Hello Karanveersingh,
There are two types of placements- on-campus and off-campus. Different companies set different cut-offs for students to be eligible for sitting in placements. For example, Microsoft may set two cut-offs to let, 8.5 cgpa and 7 cgpa. It will be based on the work and the package that you will be given by the company. The more important the tasks and your pay, the more will be the cut-off for being eligible.
In the case of off-campus placements, the cut-offs are generally less, because here your skills are more important than your qualifications. For dream companies such as Google, Microsoft, Apple, Amazon, etc, your skills (especially coding skills) as wells as your analyzing skills are topics on which stress is laid. The job for which you are applying, you should have a sound knowledge about that topic. For example, if you are applying for a software engineer job, then for off-campus placements, your coding skills play a major role. In the case of on-campus placements, for the same job, if you have a cgpa of greater than 9, will fetch you greater opportunities. Therefore, due to greater competition in on-campus placements, companies set a high cut-off for being eligible to sit in the interview hence reducing the number of candidates.
But in the case of mass recruiter companies such as TCS, Infosys, Cognizant, Wipro, etc, there are many cut-offs based on the work and pay of the employee. Lower cut-off means, higher opportunities of and low package.
Also, a cgpa or percentage greater than 9 always catches to the eyes of the HR, therefore, maintaining a cgpa of 9+ or 90% + marks, will help you get a job in a company.
Hope this helps
Regards.
