How much should I need in jee advance to get an iit seat
As you are studying in 12th std right now, so basically you have 1year time from now to prepare for JEE advanced. First of all talking about cut off in JEE advanced you need to score above 9(approx) in each subject with an aggregate of 35% to get qualified in JEE advanced. Right now if you don't have coaching classes and if you want to prepare by yourself then you have to hard work very hard work because JEE advanced is one of the toughest entrance exam in engineering. So regarding your study make sure that your concept is much clear in physics, chemistry and mathematics because in exam u need to score each of the subject individually. And if you prepare for JEE advanced then JEE mains and your board exam will automatically come under it you need not need to prepare separately for that. And do solve problems from competitive books like H.C verma, Cengage, Arihant and 39 years problem solving and previous year question papers so that you will get a idea how much you have to study and in what level the problem will come in exam. Do preparation from now onwards make a systematic routine and strictly act accordingly. Hope it will help you and try to clear your doubts with class teachers.
Good luck.
Hello Ganesh
Actually there's no fixed percentage of marks which is required to get into an IIT
You are an OBC candidate so you must try to get a rank under 12,000-13,000 to have a chance of getting into an IIT
The marks depends on the difficulty level of the paper which changes every year.
If the paper is easy the GEN cutoff to get a rank is 35% else it's below that. So you should practice accordingly.
