It depends on how fast learner you are. For some students, it takes 4 to 6 months for preparations for some others it will take years. However, if you are regularly studying NCERT books you are on the way of preparing for BITSAT. But NCERT books alone won't help you with the preparation you also need to solve problems from other books and learn the concepts.

Your question has indirect answered that time required for preparation depends on your caliber and determination strength. If any student concentrate on his/her studies during their study schedule than he/she can do it earlier as compare to those who will not take their studies seriously.

You can complete it either in 6 months or it could take a year also, but it depends on your potential.

However I am suggesting you some preparation tips which you should follow for better results :-

• In order to start your preparation make sure you are aware of the complete syllabus and exam pattern.
• You should go through previous year paper to understand the exam pattern and level of questions
• Go through NCERT books for your preparation. So, that you have good hold on your basics.
• If you are preparing for JEE Main you can easily crack BITSAT as syllabus is almost same only difference is that BITSAT have English Proficiency and Logical Reasoning section.
• BITSAT is a online test it is recommended to solve as many as mock test series for your practice and to analyze your preparation level at regular interval of time

Below are the important topics which you should focus more as it carries more weightage in the exam

@Physics

Mechanics (Newton’s Laws, Work and Energy, Rotational Dynamics etc), Thermodynamics , Electrostatics and Electromagnetism.

@Mathematics

Integral Calculus, Differential Calculus, Coordinate Geometry and Complex Numbers.

@Chemistry

Ionic Equilibrium, Chemical Equilibrium and Gas Laws
