Hello,

To have decent chances of getting seat in a NIT you need to score the cut off rank that is specified. Cut off is is different for each category and Institute. By analysing past year cut of trends the ideal score should be 280-300 marks if you belong to general category, for OBC-NCL it is 250-280 marks and if you belong to SC/ST you need to score minimum 200 marks. Depending on number of candidates qualified, difficulty level of examination and number of seats available the cut off may increase or decrease.
