How NEET PG marks and Service Mark - manipulated to get 90 + 10 mark in Tamil nadu Counselling
Dear Chandra
Counselling of medical postgraduate courses (MD/MS) in Tamil Nadu will take place on the basis fo state merit list which will be prepared on the basis of NEET PG 2018 scores.
In Tamil Nadu, the merit list is drawn for a total of 100 marks, such that candidates' scores in NEET PG 2018 and candidate's experience (of internship, i.e. non-service experience, and professional service experience) are taken to take marks out of 100 for every candidate and finally the merit list is prepared.
Marks for Merit List (Total 100 marks) = NEET PG Score (Out of 90) + Experience (10)
Given below is how the marks are computed for determining merit list of Tamil Nadu on the basis of which postgraduate counselling in Tamil Nadu takes place:
First, marks of NEET PG 2018 are taken such that they are computed from a maximum of 90 marks.
Then, marks of experience are added such that, one mark is added for Compulsory Rotary Internship (CRRI) (which is added for all candidates, i.e. service and non-service). Then, for candidates who have service experience, their marks are added such that,
- 1 mark is added for every year service in Rural Area,
- 2 marks are added for every year service in hilly area,
- 2 marks are added for every year service in remote areas,
- Two marks per year of Service for candidates who have worked in any Government Hospitals, Primary Health Centres and Government Medical College Hospital of Thiruvarur, Nagapattinam and Ramanathapuram Districts.
It should be remembered that fractional values of a year will not be counted for awarding marks. Only complete years will be counted.
I hope it answers you! All the best!
