Things get a bit on the tougher side for partial droppers as you are putting both the things at stake, that being your college performance and JEE preparation. That is why I m not on side of partial dropping in many cases but since you have decided to go for it I ll guide you through.

Put 70% of your focus on JEE and 30% on just passing your college subjects.

Make sure you don't get backlog and the study well in your summer and winter vacations.

If you are determined then surely your JEE results next year will be better than today's! Best of luck

Hi,

Rectify Your Mistakes

Analyse yourself, assess your mistakes, think about the factors due to which you didn’t make it through this year. Take measures to correct them. You have got a second chance, you don’t want to repeat your errors. What is the one thing that you missed last time? Was it a lack of disciplined routine? Was it because you could not manage Boards and JEE Main preparation together? This is the time to rectify them.

Prepare a Schedule

Since you took a drop, you have an advantage over others – unlike them, you don’t have to prepare for 12th boards. What you can do instead is, utilize this precious time to study class 11th syllabus. About 40% questions in JEE are from 11th. Make sure you gain an edge over your competitors in these questions. Divide your time between 11th and 12th syllabus, prepare a schedule and follow it diligently.

Practice is the Key

Start from the scratch. Focus on clearing the fundamentals. Read every chapter, every topic, every line – including the ones you skipped last time. Practice more – solve exercise and reference book questions, take mock tests, attempt previous year papers. The more you practice, the more confident you will be about your preparation.

JEE Main Exam's High Scoring Chapters and Topics

This free eBook covers JEE Main important chapters & topics to study just 40% of the syllabus and score up to 100% marks in the examination.

Hello,

the way of preparation for a partial dropper differs a lot from a normal repeater. Partial droppers face a lot of problems which are hard to overcome. The most basic difference isavailability of time. A partial dropper needs to spend at least 6-7 hours daily for their college course. I know not every partial dropper spends 6-7 hour on his or her college course. However, on an average this is the ideal time. Therefore, its no brainer that they get overall less study time for IIT JEE preparation. This means they have to use their time in the most optimal way. Along with this they have tocreate every possible spare time as an opportunity to study.
