Step 1: Do Halliday Resnick
They go through the concepts while drawing from day-to-day instances. They explain not only the 'what' but the 'how'. This will come in handy while problem solving. Do the check-point questions and the examples by yourself along the way.
Step 2: Do H. C. Verma
Do every problem you see in this book. You have time right now. In a week or two, finish it off. Focus more on the last few problems as these are the hardest.
Step 3: Do old JEE questions
By this I mean the analytical ones too as they really test your understanding. To them once now and then again later on.
You need to practice a lot to get a grasp on Kinematics but it is fun. Just keep practicing everyday, at least a few questions, if you really feel that you aren't able to do anything.
