Hi,

ISRO astronaut requirements (indian space agency)

Few general things are:

  • You have to be an indian citizen to become an ISRO astronaut.
  • You can be either a man or a woman.
  • So far, ISRO didnt communicate about the age rank required to become an astronaut.

Education
  • In India, you have to pass 10th grade and choose Physics,Chemistry and Mathematics as core subjects in 12th.
  • After you are done with 12th with good grades, you need to focus on a good Bachelors degree from a recognized university enroll in a course in Physics, Chemistry, Maths, Biology, or Aerospace Engineering.
  • Post graduation and/or doctorate should be a specialization in your stream. After you are done with graduation, you can sit for the exam, which is held by NASA for the recruitment of scientists and astronauts. Or in order to join ISRO one needs to clear the Joint Entrance Exam by IITs then with 3-4 years experience you are good to go.
