The basic eligibility requirement for admissions to any B.Tech program is:
- Candidates must have passed the class 12 exam from a recognized board with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as core subjects.
- They must also have secured minimum aggregate marks of 60% in the above subjects combined.
- They also need to give college specific entrance exams based on whose merit marks, admission is given.
These entrance exams are numerous. Some of the most popular exams are:
- JEE Mains (accepted by almost all the colleges including NITs, IIITs, etc)
- JEE Advanced (used for admission in IITs)
- State based exams like WBJEE, COMEDK, etc
- Private college exams like BITSAT, SRMJEEE, VITEEE, etc.
