All the best for your future and successful career.
• First Iteration - You give your preferences and a small fee and a branch is alotted to you according to your marks and cut-offs for first iteration. Others who dont get any branch that they have given in their preferences are put on wait list .
The cut-offs for different branches for BITSAT 2016 is
BITSAT 16 Iterations
• Second Iteration - This is the game changer . Here , the students who really want to be part of the bits family only remain in the competition for the seats in different branches as all who are alotted any branch or are in the waiting list have to pay a significant amount of money to take part in the second iteration. This money is returned if after all the iterations you are not alotted any branch.
Cut-offs decrease by 6–10 marks in second iteration.
• Third Iteration - Mostly it happens that second iteration marks the end of the councelling process for students as there is only few waitlisted students who are alotted any seats and only few of those who get their higher preferences in the third iteration . Also , the people who were in waiting list in first iteration and were alotted seat in second iteration have to pay to take part in third iteration .
Cut-offs decrease by 0–1 mark after third iteration
• Fourth Iteration -As many people don't report on the campus , cut-offs decrease by 2–3 Marks here . It happens after you are on the campus and before Fourth Iteration , you have a chance to lock your campus but not your branch . It means that you can choose to remain at the campus alotted after third iteration even if cutoff of your higher preferences come down in the fourth preference but if you have put one of the branches of the same campus in the higher preferences then you will get it and you cant lock it . Again the people who still were on the waiting list have to pay the remaining fees if they get a seat alotted in the Fourth Iteration.
Also, if you don't want the seat offered to you and want to opt-out of the councelling procedure, you just don't report at the campus and you will be refunded 90% of the money paid during the Iterations.
Cut-offs decrease by 2–3 marks after fourth iteration.
• Fifth iteration - Rare but yes it happens to fill any more unfilled seats .
This is when students can opt-out of the iteration process -
"""Second iteration- If you pay the money, you are in else you are scrapped off the iteration list."""
Third iteration- Those who are on waiting list in first iteration and are offered a seat in third iteration can opt-out if they don't want to have that seat. These are very few so, cut-offs don't change much.
Fourth Iteration- Those who finally report on campus are only allowed to take admission.
Thus each iteration is important if the currrent system is followed
This is all about the iteration process for Bits Pilani.
Good luck.
