How to apply for foreign collage admission Scholarship
Hello,
Although there are some scholarships (a few of which have been mentioned by Naman above) which are not university-specific, all of the top universities also offer a number of other scholarships and funding opportunities for prospective students. These include:
-
Government scholarships -
Some countries, like France and Germany, offer government scholarships in association with the Indian government for prospective students. These have to be applied for individually.
-
Departmental scholarships -
Often, each department offers separate scholarships for specific programs based on merit at the time of admission.
-
Admission scholarships -
These are generally university wide scholarships for which applicants are considered automatically at the time of admission. These scholarships are often awarded on a merit basis.
-
Financial Aid -
Financial aid is awarded to students on a need-basis and can be applied for at the time of program application.
-
Fellowships -
Fellowships are generally offered in specific programs for research students at the postgraduate level of study. For these fellowships, candidates may have to submit an additional application or essay.
-
Grants/Awards -
These are university/department specific and are small to moderately sized awards which are offered by various sponsors/alumni. These require additional applications.
-
Assistantships -
This is one of the best funding options for graduate students as the student can avail the chance of earning while teaching undergraduate students or while working in research alongside a professor. The most popular assistantships are teaching assistantships and research assistantships.
