KCET stands for Karnataka Common Entrance Test.
# You have expressed the wish for joining any Medical College in Karnataka. For this, you have to appear in KCET (Medical) compulsorily.
# As far as quota/reservation for Kashmiri migrants in total number of seats is concerned, please note that reservation is made in favour of son/daughter of Jammu and Kashmir migrants, as per prevalent rule, i.e. one seat each in all the Government Medical and Dental Colleges of the State and also one seat each in engineering colleges.
The main purpose of Karnataka Common Entrance Examination (KCET) is to make the admission in first semester of various undergraduate courses such as medical, dental, Ayurveda, Unani, Homeopathy, Naturopathy, yoga etc. within the State of Karnataka.
# The KCET is conducted by Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) generally in the month of April every year.
# Required educational qualification for KCET (Medical) is:
* 10+2 in subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English from recognised board.
* Candidate of General category and OBC category must have taken minimum 45% marks in 10+2.
* Candidate of SC and ST category must have taken minimum 40% marks in 10+2.
# Required age limit:
* Must have attained the age of 17 years as on 31 December of concerned year.
* There is no any specified upper age.
