Media technicians operate, maintain, produce, and troubleshoot audio-visual equipment and materials. Working in academic or business settings, media technicians schedule and assist with the usage of equipment to enhance meetings, lectures, and seminars.

Media Equipment technician require some measure of formal education. Getting into this field requires a post-secondary education, such as a certificate or associate's degree. Associate's or bachelor's degree in film, video or television broadcasting. Degree programs are likely to cover the basics of audio technology, video technology, projection and presentation systems, film and TV production techniques, lighting, computer graphics.
