Dear sanadya

After +2 you need to take up NEET exam in which you need to score good marks and hence good rank so that you get into very good medical college.

After your MBBS you need to take PG entrance exams like NEET, JIPMER, PGIMR, AIIMS. You need to take surgery or medicine.

After that you need to take up DM oncology which is a superspeciality. Then you are called oncologist.

It is most trending and now a days most advancing field is oncology.

You are aiming for big one, go ahead

All the best

After 12th you have to write NEET and get into a medical college and complete your degree. Then you shoild specialise iN oncology. There are also courses where you can study nursing and then take oncology.

Hey Adithya,

  • First and foremost, you must complete 11th and 12th in the Science stream with PCB as your core subjects i.e. Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

  • You need to score pass your 12th board exam overall as well as score a 50% aggregate in your PCB subjects.

  • Next, you need to apply for NEET, which is a pan-India Examination. The other options are answering AIIMS and JIPMER for admissions to their respective institutions.

  • This isn't an easy feat. After clearing the examination and getting a seat, you have complete five and a half years of MBBS course and get a MBBS degree.

  • After completion, you need to answer another Post Graduate NEET Entrance Examination and after clearing this, you need to pursue a three-year M.S. OR  M.D. (in Pediatrics/Medicine) OR M.D. (in Radiotherapy).

If you can't get an M.S. or M.D., pursue a DNB (Diploma)

  • After that, you need to pursue a MASTER'S DEGREE,
M.Ch (Surgical Oncology)

D.M. (Medical Oncology)

  • So basically, after 12th standard, It is at least approximately 11 and half years of Studying. You must know it isn't very easy to pursue a career in Medicine. This is not to discourage you rather I encourage you to strengthen your resolve to go ahead for it!

    • All the very best for your preparations!
