Hello,
I do not know your level of education. Anyway it all starts from Class 12 or Bachelors level. If you have not yet started your Class 12, you can choose computer science in your 10+2 level. Here at this stage you will get to know about basics on computer science.
If you have completed your Class 12, you can opt for Bachelors in computer science related field. You can go B.Sc. in Computer Science or B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering or Software development. Even if you do not have computer science in your Class 12, there are colleges that admit students based on marks of physics, mathematics and entrance examination. After that you have completed Bachelors, you can go for Masters.
But understand that it is through internships, projects and training that you come more close to software development. While you are in internships or projects, you try to solve different problems. This give you more experience. While you are in Class 12 or Bachelors, try to do these types of projects or training and internships during the vacation.
Friend, basics is something that is most precious in software engineering. Then comes your skill to use the basics when needed. You need to understand the codes ofdifferent softwares, try to create more easy one or an alternate code for easy functioning. It is only practise that makes you perfect in developing your skills.
