In India, if one should have a flying experience of 250 hours they can work as a commercial pilot.
Before signing on the dotted line for any kind of commercial pilot training, you should look into obtaining your initial Class 1 Medical, which is necessary for anyone wishing to train for a commercial or airline transport pilot licence.
you can fly commercial aircraft wearing glasses or contact lenses, as long as your vision is correctable to 20/20.
In abroad, the salary package is double than India. In some countries, the salary is increased 3 or 4 times better than in India.
How to become commercial pilot in India;
- Route 1: Civil Aviation (Non-Military Aviation/ Commercial Pilot);
- Route 2: Indian Defence Forces (Air Force)
You should have PCM as your main subject.
Please note a minimum of 50% is required in class 12th to join a flying school. And minimum age for commercial pilot is 18 years.
Enroll in a Flying School and Pursue B.Sc. in Aviation
- Admission will be a written one first followed by Pilot Aptitude Test- The test will assess your aptitude on Air Regulation, Air Navigation, Aviation Meteorology, Aircraft and Engine Knowledge and lastly Personal Interview and DGCA Medical examination.
- Then you will get your pilot license after test by Chief Instructor at the School, or the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) representative.
This will help you in getting licenseto take off flights on gliders or small planes that are generally provided by approved flying clubs of the country.
