In order to become a commercial pilot that is a pilot approved by the FAA to charge for pilot services, you need to follow these steps:
1. You need to get admission to a good flight training school.
2. You need to pass FAA third class medical exam with an Aeromedical Examiner(AME). You also need class 1 medical certificate.
3. If you apply through IACRA, you need to get your FAA Student Pilot Certificate.
4. Start private pilot ground school classes.
5. In order to improve your skills, start training in simulators and airplanes alongside a certified flight instructor (CFI).
6. You have to pass the FAA Private Pilot Knowledge Test called the “written”.
7. You need to pass the FAA Private Pilot Practical Exam, called the check ride. Then you can become a commercial pilot and the entire process takes 3 months.
Some of the qualifications and requirements to become a commercial pilot are:
1. You must be an Indian.
2. Your age must be between 18 to 32 years.
3. You must have 6/6 vision but you may have spectacles.
4. You should not be colour blind.
5. You must pass Class 12 with at least 55 percent in Physics, Mathematics and English. Commerce or Biology students have to get the subjects cleared through open school. You have to get your marksheets verified by boards and ask them to send it to DGCA.
6. You must be skilled in English.
7. You must have class 2 and class 1 medical certificates.
8. In order to apply for exams, you have to apply for the computer number by Central Examination Organisation (CEO).
9. Then you have to do police verification.

- It is necessary for students to have passed 10+2 from a science stream with a minimum aggregate percentage of 50%.
- There are various examinations for admission in this course. Some of the exams are JEE Mains, JEE Advanced, SRM JEE, VITEEE, MHT-CET and so on.
