Cosmologists are the scientists who study about the astronomical principles that govern the heavenly bodies like stars, planets, comets, meteors, galaxies and natural satellites. They also study about the universe and its evolution.
Candidates who want to pursue the career as cosmologists should obtain either Bachelors degree in Physics/Mathematics with honors or Bachelor of Technology degree in Astronomy. Then the candidate must obtain their master's degree in the related field.
Eligibility criteria: Candidates must pass their 10+2 level with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as their compulsory subjects. They need to apply for entrance exam. JEE Main is a national level entrance exam for all B.tech courses.
Cosmologists should possess good analytical skills as they work in the research area. They should also possess good patience as majority of their working hours are spend on data analyzing and calculation.

Hi! people who want to pursue a career as cosmologists should obtain either Bachelor's degree in Physics/Mathematics with honors or Bachelor of Technology degree in Astronomy ( this answeres your second question!) . Also, to move further, they should then obtain Master's degree in any subject related to astronomy.
