hello Neha, Glad to hear you having interest in Navy. Both (Male/Female) capable of Indian Navy as a pilot, observer or an air traffic controller (ATC) now-a-days.

To become Navy officer you have to clear CDS exam conducted by UPSC. This exam happens twice a year (June and December). Here officer gets appointed as a permanently commissioned (PC) officer or as a  Short Service Commission (SSC) officer.

Permanently commissioned (PC) officer means till retirement

Short Service Commission (SSC) officer means officer for 10yrs and can be extended to 14yrs and also have the option for permanent commission.

Eligibility - 1) 12th passed or equivalent with science or mathematics (60%)

2) B.sc passed with 60%

3) BE or B.tech with 65% from recognized AICTE

Hi.. I am an engineering graduate. I want to apply for CDS. But through CDS women can get only OTA(Officers training academy) And officers training academy is only for Indian army. So is there any way I can apply for Indian navy?

There is an age limit for the girl in Navy - minimum 19 as mentioned by the government. And you don't have to wait for 10yrs, as per your Date of birth you soon be reaching 17th of your age. By the mid of your 1st year, you will be eligible exam... So, don't take tension just complete your 12th with the good marks.Hope this would help you to clear your doubt...

after 12th go for BE/B.tech, because this would help you to make you eligible for all naval exam that is mentioned for girls by the government. This link would help you to understand better:http://www.ssbcrack.com/2017/01/indian-navy-women-entries-2017.html
