Dear Nagender, the minimum educational qualification to become a Professor is atleast a Master's degree. However Ph. D is more desirable qualification in most institutions. Again each and every University or Institution has its own meaning of a Professor. In some Institutions, a Professor is a Senior Level Teacher or a Lecturer. You also need to qualify for the National Eligibility Test to be hired as an Assitant Professor first. After accumulating certain years of experience, you are promoted as a Professor. Certain Institutions also expect a Professor to have research experience in the field of their subject.
