Hello there. Before getting further let's first discuss what actually devOps is. So basically in today's industry, devOps is the considered as one of the main aspect a engineering must be possessing. DevOps work is to provide a connection between development (Dev) and operation (ops). So basically what happened in earlier scenario was that the development team was doing it's work separately and the operation team was working separately due to which their were some miscommunication between the two which leads toward the problem in satisfying the client. But now due to devOps both the field are being handled by same team by which they can represent 100% of what the actual thing is as they are the one who have developed the product.

For being a devOps, one need to have good development skills as well as operational skills i.e. able to develop the product and later do all the other operation on it which includes testing, dealing with clients, maintenance, good communication skills to deal with client.
