A Drug Inspector is a professional in the field of Pharmacy who is an expert in monitoring and executing efficiency, safety, quality and usefulness of drugs from the production stage to the final i.e, selling stage. To become one , for a start you should pass 12th with Physics, Chemistry/ Biotechnology, Biology/ Microbiology as your main subjects. Followed by this ,you should pursue a bachelors and masters degree in Pharmacy or Medicine or Pharmaceutical Sciences.Masters is not compulsory but it will give you a better edge. Degrees with specialisation in Microbiology or Clinical Pharmacology are usually preferred. The recruitment of Drug Inspectors is conducted by the UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) and different SPSCs (State Public Service Commission). So the final step is to prepare and clear the respective entrance exams conducted by the UPSC and various SPSCs when there are vacancies.
