Dear aspirant,
To become Gene therapist, you must have Bachelor's degree course in Biochemistry, Genetics, Biology or a related field. Later you must purse doctoral degree and posses demonstrable skills and knowledge in the technologies which Scientists uses to create and also use Gene Therapy vectors and even tests it's efficiency.
There are 2 types of Gene Therapy Treatment namely, Germline Therapy and Somatic Cell Gene Therapy. Gene Therapy is available in Masters and Doctoral level with training in genetic research or genetics.
The average salary for junior Gene Therapist with 1 to 3 years of experience is Rs. 4,50,000 per annum and a Senior Gene Therapist with experience 5 to 8 years is Rs. 6,50,000 per annum.
