Note some key points for becoming software architect:

1. Degree in Computer Science.
2. Gain experience as a Computer Programmer or Software Engineer. Software Architects need to be able to understand syntax in different languages, and be able to write code. The best way to learn this is to gain some experience as a computer programmer.
3. Learn to work in a development team.
4. Learn about software design patterns and architecture.

You need education( bachelor or master's degree in computer science, software engineering or other related field) and experience to become a Software Architect.

see soft ware architect is not a subject , its just a job position name in software development or engineering domain. to become a software architect you need to study computer science engineering or any other relevant engineering discipline. you must have strong concept on programming , latest technologies, working principle , web development etc. once you gain experience as programmer, you may apply for software architect or senior engineer role in relevant organization.
