Here are the general conditions for  TNEA through sports quotaa:

• The highest achievement of the candidate in only one annual tournament in the sports disciplines in a year will be considered for awarding marks. Selection of the candidate will be based on the marks obtained by the ccandidate.
• Participation/achievements for the past 5years, in sports/games will be taken into account. National/State level Championships/Tournaments conducted by organisations recognized by Sports Development Authority of Tamilnadu(SDAT) alone will be considered for award of marks.
• Open/Invitational tournaments of any kind will not be considered.
• Participation/achievements of candidates with nativity in Tamiol Nadu who represented Tamil Nadu alone are eligible for marks under National Category.
• Selected candiidates will be counselled and allotment of branches and colleges earmarked for this quota will be based on the ranking before the start of the main counselling.
• Marks will be awarded for a single greatest achievement in International/National/State level tournaments.

Make sure if you have points above 30. You will know your session rank on the day of counselling. If it is below 80 definitely you will get top colleges in Tamil Nadu . Each college has one or two seats for sports quota. Students can choose their preferred department.
