Dear friend,

Simplest strategy is don't make your preparation complex. Study your electrical reference book/syllabus book completely of every subject which have been defined as course in ESE Electrical by UPSC. Don't try for too much by having too many extra books or hi-fi books as they don't need scientists for research.

Solve last 20 years question papers minimum twice. Solve other books objective question also as for GATE/PSU/ESE. Develop your accuracy at your best.

In subjective questions, you need to write a lot so do your hard work in that also. They don't ask too much difficult questions, they just ask lengthy & time taking one in which you need to be precise and should cover all of your area with formulas/derivation completely in mind. Solve subjective papers of last 20 years also within time frame, you will have good practice by it.

Further, I personally think these things are enough for preparation. You don't need any coaching for this exam.

Thank you!!!
