Hello.

Here are some golden tips which are trifurcated for the purpose to have a structured or much easier way to relate:

  • HABITUAL TIPS

  • ANALYSING TIPS

  • PSYCHOLOGICAL or SMART TIPS.

  • HABITUAL TIPS : if you are targeting for a big hand so practice is a key to success, it requires to have it in your habit, as per the past year inscriptions and analysis of all-time topper’s interview here is the list which will help you to know what should be in your habit? or what should not be?
  • The revision of theory every week should be a habit.

  • Solving a lot of problems should be a habit.

  • Taking at least 1 hour for a workout or physical activity or outdoor games should be a habit.

  • Solving test series is a very good habit.

  • Weekly analysis of yourself that "how deep in water you are?" should be a very good habit so that you could know the area where you should give more attention.

  • Be Self-motivated and in case if you lose motivation then learn the thing that attracts you towards an IIT.

  • Make yourself ready to finish the exam in the allotted time so attempting a self-test with a similar exam environment is a good habit.

  • ANALYSING TIPS :  as far as JEE mains 2021 is concerned, the cutoff would be in percentile which can’t be predicted but as per the previous year records and with an idea, one may have decent chances to clear cutoff with 90 Percentile, it might be less or might be high but the main concern is that how to analyze the exam pattern.
  • Analyze the complete pattern of the exam with the help of previous year question papers and mock test papers that would help you to understand what should be your approach to learn a topic, how deep questions you need to solve, and what is the weightage of any particular topic. The provided link may help you for better analysis: JEE mains paper analysis

  • Solve all previous year question papers, after a complete analysis of exam papers, give your major attention to high weighted units or topics. This link may help to find previous year question papers: JEE Mains previous year question papers

  • PSYCHOLOGICAL OR SMART TIPS :

During the preparation, most of the students face high peer pressure, and also sometimes they just waste their entire time thinking that “a lot of topics I have to complete”, “How should I start” etc. In that scenario consult with your mentor and share your problem.

  • As this exam is not just for hard work, it’s all about smart work as well. So try to find a smarter way to solve questions that takes less time in comparison to traditional methods.

  • In case of doubting a question, try to clear it ASAP. Don't leave it for later as it may destroy your fresh understanding of the concept.

  • Do not waste your entire time on the doubtful question, as time is limited in the case of preparation so mark that question and solve the rest of the problems.

  • While attempting a real exam or mock test, put your efforts first on those questions which you can solve with surety as negative marking may deduct your score.

  • Always refer to the best books, provided link may help you to know the name of the best books: Best books for JEE mains

Going forward with these tips, one can easily crack any exam, so always remember the HAS rule (Habit Analyse Smartly), so it says make habits, take analysis, and move forward with a smartness.

Major points to remember for JEE mains 2021 :

  • According to an analysis of past year cut-off, one must target at least 90 percentile to crack the exam, there might be some variations as per the fluctuations.

  • Analyze the pattern of the exam and find out the weightage of topics and then prepare with important topics.

  • In the beginning stick with the syllabus, after having the entire syllabus on your fingertips then increase the level of your preparation.

  • Refer only recommended books which are best for JEE Mains preparation these include: NCERT ( for the beginning), HC Verma for physics ( increasing level), RC Mukherjee for physical chemistry ( increasing level), organic chemistry OP Tandon (increasing level), objective mathematics by RD Sharma (increasing level) and refer the article through given link to know all book details: JEE mains 2021 books

  • You can also arrange some study material of any coaching institutes that may help you to solve some predicted questions for the JEE Mains exam.

  • Always study with the guidance of someone so that you can know the right path whether you're going right or not, for that you can also join a coaching institute.

  • If you are preparing with self-study then you can join an online mock test series that will help you to know your preparation level, and if you are preparing under the guidance of any coaching institute then give your test honestly with better preparation.

  • Complete your entire syllabus at least 3 months before the exam and give this time to solve past year exam papers and for a short revision of concepts.

  • Manage your time during your mock test, always try to finish the exam before the final bell rings that would help in the real exam to complete it earlier or within the time.

Last-minute tips :

  • Before two or three days of the exam write all the formulas or all important concepts of the subjects on a single paper and stick it over your wall and take a look over it maximum time so that you do not forget these concepts at the time of the final exam.

  • Before one day of the final exam try to decrease your study stress as you usually take because on the last day you can't hit the target, the preparation you have done will reflect in the final exam.

  • Do not lose your confidence, believe in yourself, and drink water as much as you can to mick out your nervousness.

  • Take proper sleep so that your mind could work freshly at the time of the exam and you could make sensible decisions during your exam.

  • After exams do not discuss your paper with anyone and leave everything over god, your hard work will reflect in your results.

Best of luck.

Dear ruchika,

Preparing for JEE mains is not just job or work it's a devotion, a dedication and it requires patience and lot of hard work. You have to use perfect Strategies for follow a disciplined routine, and do things smartly for cracking JEE Mains. You are required to solve at least 1,000 question for every chapter for gaining confidence and for stronghold a topic, practice atleast 2000 to 3000 questions. As I was also a jee aspirant so I am telling this on my experience. Also just don't solve single variety questions. Actually for cracking JEE mains or advanced you have to practice varieties of question.
Also note that you have to sleep well so that your body and mind will get enough rest and your brain function properly. A 6 hours sleep would be enough. Always do your homework on time, if you have taken coaching somewhere then do exactly what the mentors say and solve the modules/ materials given. Practice at least 5 times the previous 15 years question papers of JEE mains and join some test series to get an exposure of online test. And also note that you have to self study at least 4 hours. And practice questions with some good and updated books, like for eg - you can prepare Physics and maths by cengage books and Chemistry by MS Chauhan or Narendra Awasthi (for problem solving) and read every line of NCERT for inorganic chemistry.

Also time management is necessary, so don't waste time on the questions that you are not able to make within 10 minutes ( ask them with your jee mentors ) because in jee mains exam time management is very important. And cracking jee mains will not get you into an IIT. JEE mains is like a prelims for JEE advanced and without qualifying JEE mains you cannot give JEE advanced exam. Now JEE advanced is one of the India's biggest exam and every year the questions are different, the pattern changes and it is a difficult exam then JEE mains. But still if you follow the strategies that I have told above then, not only you will crack jee mains with good rank, but also you will crack JEE advanced with a good rank and it will not be a big deal. And only by cracking JEE advanced with a good rank can get you an IIT.
Also note that for cracking JEE advanced, you must solve the previous 10 years question paper of JEE advanced in a real-time, honestly and you have must have confidence in you.

Hi Aspirant,

Go through the following Process to cract JEE to get seat in IIT.

  • NCERT Books: Well even if you think you have studied well for boards and you are clear with your concepts, you need to read the NCERT books again. See having a fresh base and a strong grip on concepts is always going to help you, when you start preparing at the JEE level.
  • Question banks: Of course you need some books after reading your NCERT books for reaching the JEE level. So these are the books which i used and i recommend.

    • Math: Arihant and Cengage Publication, KC Sinha, ML Khanna
    • Physics: NCERT, Resnick Halliday, HC Verma, DC Pandey
    • Chemistry: NCERT, NCERT exemplar
  • Previous year papers: After you have completely solved all these books, it’s best if you can start solving the previous year paper. You have already got a lot stronger at your concepts and question solving without noticing. So it will be best if you can get familiar with some questions that have been asked previously.
  • Mock tests: After solving the previous year papers, you need to solve some mock tests to get a practice of a lot of questions before the exam. So solve as many mock tests as possible.

Thank you.
