To appear in IIIT Hyderabad UGEE 2019, candidates should have passed class 12th or equivalent examination with an aggregate of 60% marks in the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

The Question paper for UGEE 2019 will be divided into 2 sections, Subject Proficiency Test and Research Aptitude Test. The questions will be in MCQ (objective) pattern. The syllabus is-

• Subject Proficiency Test syllabus will be same as CBSE (or any other equivalent board) class 11th and 12th syllabus for the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
• Research Aptitude Test syllabus will also be same as class 11th and 12th for PCM. Also, in this section, candidates will be tested on the basis of Critical Thinking and Creative ability to solve and manage things.

Tips to prepare for UGEE are-

• Prepare time table to manage your time and start preparing for your exam as soon as possible.
• Go over the entire syllabus and note down all the topics. Collect books and reference materials need for preparation.
• Keep seperate notes of important topics and practice the topics you feel that you are weak in.
• After you are done with revision, Collect previous years question papers and mock tests and practice them daily.
• Solve these papers like you would solve the actual exam; within the given time frame. Through this practice, candidates will get an idea of how much time should be given to a particular type of question.
• Keep the time limit in mind and don’t get stuck on a particular question. Skip the questions you find more time-consuming and return to those questions once you are done with the rest of the paper. This is the correct method of attempting the question paper to complete it on time and score good marks.
