Candidates, short-listed for Indian Air Force after the initial selection procedure, go through a rigorous three-year training regimen at the National Defence Academy at Khadakwasla, followed by specialised training at one of the training establishment. Thereafter, they are Commissioned as Permanent Commission Officers and posted as officers at any of the Air Force Stations.
To be in the NATIONAL DEFENCE ACADEMY
You can join NDA by taking the exam conducted by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). This exam is conducted twice a year in all major cities throughout India.

To be a pilot in Indian Air Force candidate has to appear for for NDA/CDSE/AFCAT/NCC special entry. For NDA Candidate should I pass 12 class examination with physics and mathematics and be an Indian national. After completion of the examination they have to gone they have gone through three years of training and reposted in any of the IAF IAF station s
Through cdac candidates can go with training in IMA/INA/IAF/OTA 3 years rigorous training. And for this training candidates must be graduate or engineering graduate. After completion of training of three years candidate will be a Foster dat commissioned rank officer in any of the Indian Air Force station.
There is another process of being a pilot is SSC Short Service commission officer whitch is off for only for 14 years of service. All of this post is for technical cadre. Age limit is 20to27 men andw both is allowed for this service.
For NDA age limit is 17 to 19 years, for cdac eligibility age limit is 20 to 24 years.

To become a fighter pilot there are 3 ways to join in Indian Air Force
After passing in the written test the candidates will be called for AFSB interview followed by medical examination. Candidates who make it to the merit list will be selected.
Pre-Flying Training will begin at AFA for six months before commencing STAGE –I training except for NDA cadets. After pre flying training STAGE 1 will start and the duration of the training is 24 weeks at Air force Academy. The trainees can will be trifurcated into Fighter, Transport and Helicopter streams. They undergo STAGE 2 training and the duration of the training is 24 weeks in their respective Flying Training Establishments. After STAGE 2 training, the successful pilot trainees are commissioned as Officers and undergo STAGE 3 training. After STAGE 3 training they begin operational flying at the squadrons / Units assigned to them.

If you want to join Indian Air Force as a fighter pilot then you have different ways which can help you in joining IAF as a fighter pilot :-
**First is through NDA it for after 10+2. For this scheme the candidate should have completed his 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics as mandatory subjects. In this examination there will be the written examination followed by an interview, those who clears the written examination have to appear for interview which is conducted by SSB and then you have to undergo some physical tests.
**After graduation you can directly apply for IAF for the role of Fighter pilot.
