Hey!

According to guidelines provided by MIT USA, following is the procedure to take admission in engineering:

  • Test option 1: The SAT or the ACT, as well as two SAT Subject Tests: one in math (level 1 or 2), and one in science (physics, chemistry, or biology e/m).
  • Test option 2: The TOEFL (and not IELTS) as well as two SAT Subject Tests: one in math (level 1 or 2) and one in science (physics, chemistry, or biology e/m). This option is especially recommended for students who do not speak English at home or in school, or who have been speaking English for fewer than five years.
  • There are no minimum or recommended scores for the SAT, ACT, or SAT Subject Tests.
  • TOEFL: For the TOEFL Internet Based Test (iBT), the minimum composite score is a 90, at least 23 for each section, and a composite score of at least 100. Similarly, for the TOEFL revised Paper-Delivered Test (rPDT), the score should be at least 23 for each section. If you have taken the TOEFL Paper Based Test (PBT) prior to June 2017, the minimum composite score is a 577, with a recommended composite score of at least 600.

After this, you will need to register on the official website of MIT and follow the steps mentioned. You will need to write essays and other information on why you want to take admission in MIT.

Dear aspirant,

Those students from India who make it into MIT USA are either holding AIR 1-10 or are having atleast 1-2 National Olympiad medals or are either representing their country in some athletic sports. At the end of the day one must be extraordinary to get into MIT usa. They just don't take anyone in.

Surely scoring 1500+/1600 in SAT will be needed though they don't care about it

Similarly 34+/36 is needed in ACT they also don't care about it but it's a formality

The reason even after scoring such high scores students are still rejected is because of their essay or lack of validation/recommendation

When i said validation or recommendation it does not mean some letter from school or college that showcases your leadership but a national medal of some sort that either comes from a sports comittee or from an internation education body like OLYMPIAD

If you've achieved all the above then comes the final essay

The essay you write to apply for MIT is the ticket. You can write anything and when I mean anything just express yourself and if they like it , it will triumph all the above.

Still you'd need to clear the formalities of getting 1500+ and 34- in sat and act respectively
