how to get into IIM through GATE exam, for BTech student?
Hi Shashank,
GATE exam is strictly for M.Tech entrance. In order to get into an IIM you need to take CAT. However some B Schools like NITIE accept GATE score for entrance into their IE program which is an industrial Management course and give Management training for industrial sector. Since it is mostly supply chain and Ops plus management, it need both engineering skills and manegerial exposure. Hence they accept both CAT and GATE.
Other than that to do MBA, it is advisable to take CAT or any exam that the institute conducts like NMAT, SNAP, XAT etc.
GATE exam is strictly for Mtech courses and not accepted across MBA colleges and courses.
All IIMs accepts admission through CAT or GMAT scores only and GDPI process is thereafter conducted.
For GATe, you can go for Mtech courses from IIT or NITs.
Hey.
IIMs take admission through CAT exam only. For MBA. Some of them might accept your GMAT score also. But you can't get admission here through GATE exam. CAT is the compulsory exam you need to take for admissions in IIMs.
Best of luck!
