There are two ways to get a job on a ship:

• Apply to a cruise line for a job on one of their ship.
• Apply to a concessioner for a job on a ship. A concessioner is a company contracted to operate a spa, retail shop or entertainment on the ship.

To work in cruise ship you are required to have a basic hotel management diploma or degree with at-least 1 to 2 years of experience.

Other certifications and documents include STCW 2010 certification, a medical certificate, yellow fewer vaccination, passport and other relevant documents.

Simply apply with the relevant skills and certain companies will contact you if you have relevant skills.

And for Engineering side you need to do merchant navy course to work as an engineer in the cruise ship rest are all hotel management jobs.

Merchant navy officers are employed by commercial shipping companies to work on all kinds of seagoing vessels, such as cruise liners, cargo ships, tankers and hovercraft. ... Furthermore, you will oversee the operational responsibilities of your crew, such as the loading of cargo and the use of machinery.
