Earlier the recruitment was done on the basis of SCRA exam but now it has been scraped so there are 3 another ways through which you can join Indian Railways and these are -

IES - Indian Engineering Services

Gate - Through Gate entrance

Individual Recruitment like they advertise about the same in newspaper and accordingly candidates apply for the same.

Also, if you clear IES exam then you will be recruited at Grade A level officers.
