Jobs in Merchant Navy very look relative. The role of deck officer in Merchant Navy is indispensable onboard. A deck officer handles all the equipments onboard cargo communication etc. To become a Merchant Navy deck officer you have to  done those course

• BS nautical Technology
• BSc nautical science which is a 3 years officer training course
• hnd nautical science
• Diploma in nautical science.

after passing any of these through any IMU ,one will get training job and then promoted to the officer rank
