Candidates with valid GATE score can check IIT M.Tech admission 2018 details, including application dates of different IITs, on this page. GATE scores obtained in 2016, 2017, or 2018 will be considered valid for IIT M.Tech 2018 admissions. It may be noted that each participating institute of IIT M.Tech admissions 2018 will individually release their application forms and also have different admission guidelines. Candidates also need to register on the GATE Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP) between April 2 and 30 to participate in the IIT M.Tech admission 2018 process. Admission guidelines may include eligibility criteria of the institute that candidates have to fulfill to be considered for admission. For example, if a candidate applies to IIT Bombay, the candidate must hold a bachelors degree or masters degree in a relevant discipiline with minimum 60% marks (55% in case of SC/ST candidates). Also, in case of IIT Bombay, if the candidate has obtained a CGPA/CPI of 8.00 or above, he/she is exempt from submitting GATE scores. So when applying to a particular institute, it is important that the candidate goes through the admission procedure and eligibility criteria thoroughly. The participating institutes of IIT M.Tech admissions 2018 are IISC Bangalore, ISM Dhanbad, and the IITs.
- Eligible candidates can register for COAP from April 6 as the registrations have been started by IIT Madras which is the co-ordinating IIT this year. The IITs have started a common offer acceptance portal from 2017 to facilitate all the candidates applying for M.Tech programmes at the IITs. The process is that candidates must apply to each individual IIT as well as register at COAP. The admission offers given to the candidates will be displayed through COAP and candidates allowed to confirm the admission for one of the given offers. This eliminates duplication of offers and vacant seats if any. GATE COAP 2018 opens from April 2 to 30 and will be held in four rounds.
