HELLO LEARNER!!!!!
First of all take a deep breath and calm down. In the following lines I am going to some insights of JEE and give you some criticism. You are talking about clearing JEE in 1 year, I am the one who was stuck in a similar situation 3 years back but I had only four months. I started my preparation in September 2015 for JEE Advanced 2016. In four months, I could complete 85% of JEE syllabus and finally I got All India Rank 247 in JEE Advanced.
I know a lot about JEE and how to clear it. I have been mentoring a lot of students and produced some awesome ranks in a span of just 2 years of guiding various students from different parts of the country.
What I can see in your case is that you have done well in school till 10th class but you have been unable to cope up with the concepts of JEE since the beginning.
This is a very common story students narrate:
“I got 10 CGPA (Or 90+ %) in 10th class and now I am unable to cope up with the syllabus of JEE Mains.”
As you were exceptional in school till 10th, then why do you lack basics?
It is because perhaps you were more into getting marks than learning the subject. I was a very average scoring student in 9th (7.8 CGPA) and 10th (9.6 CGPA). I was into learning maths more and I focused on learning. I never felt bad for getting 60/90 marks in maths and science as long as I was doing the problems. That helped me strengthen my basics.
Let me tell you one thing, knowing basics doesn’t mean only gaining knowledge. It is more about building thought process and mindset of how you see new concepts.
Another problem with high scoring guys in 10th is that they become proud and overconfident that the last thing that they would do is accepting their mistakes.
Now you have wasted your one year!
In any case you gotta bounce back. There are my suggestions to you:
- Learn from your past mistakes. Don't study for marks this time. Get absorbed into the subject.
- Leave your pride and become humble. When you are humble, inflow of real knowledge takes place.
- You have a lot of backlogs of 11th, clear some of them, let go most of them for now. Do only the ones who become prerequisites of 12th class chapters
-
These chapters do-
- Physics: Just basics of Mechanics
- Chemistry: Whole Chemistry of 12th Class is linked to 11th. Therefore try to complete it.
- Maths: Trigonometry, Inequalities, Permutations & Combinations, Sequences Series etc.
- If you do not know prerequisites of a chapter, just try to learn the prerequisites on the spot while studying the chapter. It will not take much time.
- You have less time but still you need to give time to learn theory properly and slowly.
- Do Advanced level books. Don't waste your time on simple books. Good Advanced level books start from basics.
- You can still do it. If I can, you can!
- Work smart, work hard too.
Hello
When it comes to motivation for JEE preparation then the biggest motivation is the reason behind why you want to crack JEE examination , so always ask yourself why you want to clear JEE , it is because you want to become an engineer and want to live your dream life and this will always motivate you for studying harder.
Also, to have interest and focus towards your studies for JEE mains preparation the first thing is to avoid distraction so make sure that you don't keep your mobile near you while studying, as mobile is the biggest distraction while studying.
*Make a routine, and try to give at least 8 hours or more to study , your routine should revolve around things i.e study, revise and practice . Routine will help you to eliminate procrastination
*Don't study a single subject for long hours as it makes you feel bored, keep changing the subject after every 2-3 hours
*Allow short breaks of 20 to 30 minutes in between your studies to refresh your mind
*You should practise at least 80 to 100 numericals and mcqs in Each chapter , practicing question helps your brain to be active other than reading only theory.
Thank you
