Bachelor of Fisheries Science (BFSc) is a 4-year undergraduate degree course in the field of fisheries.
It includes study of fish processing, aquaculture and fishery resource management, fishing technology and management, fisheries environment and fisheries extension.
For admission to this course, the candidate is required to have passed class 12th examinations or equivalent education.
The admission is based on the criterias set by different colleges, they either gives you admission on the basis of merit in the qualifying examination and personal interview process or they can consider entrance exam conducted by the university itself or state or national level.
PCB group candidates can appear for entrance examination conducted by Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) Common Entrance Test.
Other entrance exam conducted for admission to this course are :
The candidate can get a job in any of the sectors, banks, institutions, oceans, fishing and in foreign countries. And after pursuing Postgraduation you can even get jobs as Inspector of Fisheries, Sub-Inspector of Fisheries, Research Assistants, Assistant Fisheries Development Officer ( AFDO ), Assistant Directors, etc. by fisheries department of state government.
