Dear Anand, around 15 lakh students are appearing for NEET this year for around 500 medical colleges in India which have approximately 50,000 seats. You do the math.To be able to make it in the top 400 of All India Quota, you should have done all the hardwork necessary. We are sure that you must be aware that Biology has the highest number of questions. Biology section itself gets you 360 if you have answered them all right. You should revise NCERT books as many times as possible. When in doubt, do not answer the question. An unanswered question has no impact but a wrong answer takes away 1 mark in the name of Negative Marking. Lets say Biology and Chemistry are the subjects where you can score good and Physics is a little tough for you. You answer Biology's 90 questions and Chemistry"s 45 questions right. You score 540 there. But if you have even answered 10 Physics questions wrong, you lose 10 marks right away and you drop down to 530. But on the other hand, if you haven't attempted these questions, your score still stands at 540. During tie, candidates with minimum number of wrong answers will be given preference. And a difference of 10 marks can cost you dearly. For every seat when 30 candidates other candidates are competing with you, you need to be careful. Get your basics and fundemental topics right because if you have them right, the rest of the concepts will make sense. In the last few days, keep practising as many mock tests as possible because you need to know time management. If you have worked hard for so long and are unable to answer all the 180 questions in the given time, the efforts go in drain. So practise to complete atleast few mock test papers on a clock. Lastly, make sure you get enough sleep because sleep deprivation can cause stress on the brain and it might not be effective in the moment it needs to be.
