How to go in Indian Naval Academy??

You can join the Naval Academy either through NDA/NA examination which is given after 12th or CDSE after graduation.

1. NDA/NA Entry : Through this only male candidates who are between the age of 16 ½ – 19 ½ years of age and have Physics and Mathematics in 12th can apply. NDA cadets opting to join the Navy complete three years of joint training. Then they get transfered to INA for the next one year. Cadets have the option to study engineering and are awarded a Bachelor of Technology degree upon graduation. Cadets majoring in Naval Architecture have to undergo an additional 6 months of training at the Naval Dockyard, Visakhapatnam after graduation. They also get the opportunity to enroll themselves for post-graduate specialization in their respective fields at IIT-Delhi.

2. CDSE Entry : Only male graduates who have B.Sc. with Physics & Mathematics or Bachelor of Engineering can apply for Naval Academy. The written examination consists of objective type paper which has subjects like Mathematics, English and GK. The successful candidates of written exam are called for SSB and then for medicals.

Women can join the Navy as Short Service Commissioned Officers in select branches . Presently,women are inducted into the following 6 branches of the Navy as Officers : ATC, Observer, Law, Logistics, Education and Naval Architecture.Out of these, the government has also given approval for Permanent Commission (PC) for women in Education, Law and Naval Architecture branch on completion of  their SSC which depends primarily on their merit and vacancy in the department.

There are 3 stages where you can apply INA

STAGE1:After 10+2 you can join ina through upsa nda examination or tes(technical entry scheme),one should have pcm in 10+2 you apply for this entry,there is no written exam,candidates are shortlisted on the basis of cut off in % marks.

STAGE2:After graduation one can join ina,but having engineering dagree os must,on the basis of the academic % upto 5th semister if you are clearing the cut off and shortlisted you can go for ssb.

STAGE3:UES is the entry through which you can ensure your place in INA even before your graduation.only engineering students can apply for this entry,in ues ,navy notifications the college and sets up a pool drive for all nearby campuses,eligible candidates are being interviewed and shortlisted ones are called for the SSB.
