If you mean the central government colleges like , iit, nit , then for iits you need to appear for the jee advanced after passing the jee mains with a decent score, Or else you have to score a high score according to your caste in the jee main.
But, if you mean the state government colleges then there will be counselling held in your state , only based on your 12 th marks and the pcm aggregate.Contact later specifying state ,caste and pcm aggregate in 12 th standard if you want to know more .
