GATE 2025: Syllabus | Sample Papers
I am a b.tech graduate and I had my specialization in electronics and communications engineering but I did not write any gate exams so can i apply for the jobs in DRDO?
Defence Research and Development Organization is a cluster of many labs aimed towards contributing to the defense and security of our country.
Coming to your question, I take it you want to be a scientist in DRDO. The primary method of recruitment is done immediately after graduation. If your college happens to be a lucky few where RAC visits you stand a chance to be taken in as Scientist ‘B’. They usually recruit from premier institutions like IIT and NIT.
The second way is, like you mentioned through GATE. Again you join as Scientist ‘B’. However getting a reasonably good score in GATE is easier said that done.
The last option is through RELEVANT experience and I stress on relevant. They (RAC) call for suitable candidates based on requirements and then there are the usual round of interviews and considering you have done well during selection, you are in. The post/rank that you are given depends on the amount of experience you have. Usually it's Sc ‘C’ and above.
