Try to be conceptually strong and go through with the concepts and formulae properly and before going for the exam try to go with the sample paper as well of FTRE if possible.

For FTRE, you basically need to prepare for Mental Ability and Scholastic Aptitude sections.

Go through the syllabus and prepare from any book which provides materials of a higher level (IIT Foundation Books might help).
