In order to prepared for any competitive exam, first you need to know the syllabus for it. You should know the syllabus well. Then, prepare a timetable as per your daily routine, and which suits you the best and follow it strictly. Give more time to the topics you find difficult. Solve previous year question papers and question banks related to each Subject of the exam.
Talking about making short notes, it usually consists of the subtopics under a topic, which you can explain in your own words. It also contains important pointers under the particular topic. So, you decide what you feel comfortable with and make notes accordingly.

The below tips to prepare for your competitive examination
Go through your syllabus well and complete it at least 2 months before your examination so that you can keep it for revision and practice
Practice questions after finishing each chapter
Make short notes:-
- While reading a chapter underline important paragraph and then note it down to make notes ,
- write down important concepts and Facts that you got while practicing questions.

Use different colour pens to make your notes attractive so that you don't feel bored while reading it
Revise:- keep revising your concepts at regular intervals, like once in a week or 15 days .
Make routine or timetable :- you can make a routine as well and try to give at least 8 hours or more to study , your routine should revolve around things i.e study, revise and practice
Solve previous year questions
once you are done with the complete syllabus go through mock test papers .
