Start your preparations as soon as possible. Dedicate atleast an hour in each day to your studies. Refer to textbooks and notes and try completing the syllabus before the professor does. After you have finished studying, see that revise each and every chapter so that you don't lose the track of old syllabus. Before the few weeks or a month before the exam, go through the mock tests and practice and solve previous year's question to get a brief about the paper pattern.
