Hello,

First and foremost, you need to make a schedule and then practice daily. HSEE has two parts: Part I and Part II.

Syllabus for Part I consists of English (25% marks of Part I), Analytical and Quantitative Ability (25% marks of Part I), and General Studies (in four sub-parts; 50% marks of Part I). Part II involves essay writing.

HOW TO PREPARE ON YOUR OWN?

• First and foremost, you need to make a schedule and then practice daily. Make your time table in such a way that one topic is included in each section of part one per day. For e.g. sentence structure and usage of English, Algebra of Analytical and Quantitative Ability section and Indian Economy, Westernization, Democracy of General Studies, all on DAY-1. Picking up different sections at one day will ensure your preparation to be finished on time and you won’t get bored either.

• Make notes of difficult or tricky concepts and study them regularly.

• Read newspaper daily and be aware of current affairs. Also, look for national and world news which has a huge impact on masses.

• Practise essay writing weekly on the topics that are related to previous year questions. You can also look on the internet for the best essays or cited information to enhance your writing skills.

• Practice question papers. This is very important and tries to solve as many question papers as you can. Go for previous year papers, mock tests, sample papers, etc. and solve at least 10 papers. This will not only enhance your skillset but will make you aware of your strong and weak areas, time limit and other aspects of the paper. Therefore it is as important as studying well!
