How to prepare for kcet within 20 days and what are the tricks to crack it?
As far as the Karnataka common entrance test is concerned, speed is the key. Knowing nearly every concept properly in all the subjects that you are interested in, PCM/PCB is of essence. A good deal of practice is necessary to develop the speed required to crack a decent amount of questions in time. A few tips in this regard:
1) Take any standard book meant for CET. It will have literally hundreds of problems/objective questions from each unit. Solving problems from the NCERT/state textbook is inadequate.
2) Say a certain chapter has 20 questions. Set a timer for 20 minutes if the questions need mathematical analysis to solve or 10 minutes if they are conceptual or theoretical and then try your best to solve all of them before your time is up.(Basically one minute a problem and half minute a conceptual question)
3) Once you finish, ask someone else (your parents, if possible) to evaluate. Don't get disheartened if your scores aren't as high as you hoped. Make a note of the score on the Table of Contents/ index and move to the next chapter.
4) Once you are done with all chapters, go back to the ones you have scored the least and study the related theory once. Then, repeat the problems, with slightly lesser time.
5) Your scores will hopefully improve each time you repeat a chapter and improving scores will give to our a much needed morale boost.
6) Around one week before the exams, solve past CET papers. There are small chances of questions being repeated but these papers will give you a general idea of what to expect in the main exam. Make sure you time yourself for this. It would also be a lot better if you had actual OMR sheets for this. Again, get someone else to evaluate them.
7) This is normally where one would say keep cool and all that, but my personal experience says a little anxiety and tension will always do you good. Just don't panic or go blank.
Dear Yogesh,
In order to score good marks in KCET you should focus on your 12th class syllabus as it covers the major portion in the exam. Focus on your text books and solve all the exercises which are given at the end of completing each chapter.
Focus on the topics which carries more weightage in the exam
Solve previous year papers to understand the exam pattern and to know the level of the exam
Good Luck!!
